Comfortable accommodation in a lovely old house with views over Uig Bay.
The house is situated in Uig on the A855, which runs around the coast of
Trotternish. The village of Uig benefits from a sheltered position in a
bay off Loch Snizort. Indeed Uig is Norse for 'a sheltered bay.' Uig is
an ideal base for exploring the awesome Trotternish ridge. If you prefer
less strenuous walking there are plenty of
short walks
in the area. It is the terminal for the Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry services
to Lochmaddy and Tarbert in the Outer Hebrides. In the village you will
also find two shops, a post office, a filling station (with LPG) two public
houses with restaurants, a hotel, a cafe, a pottery and a brewery.
